Delicious filling healthy steamed rice balls called upma kozhakkatai | Pidi Kozhakkatai made in many ways. here i have used the quick version by using idli rava which makes the process faster and ideal for breakfast or dinner . this delicious traditional south Indian tiffin can be served with many kinds of chutneys, gothsu, sambar, coconut chutney or khara chutney . Vathakuzhambu also makes a tasty side dish for upma kozhakkatai . There are many ways to prepare this dish, i have just simplified the method using idli rice rava which is available in stores in perfect texture .
