One of the most delicious ways to cook raw bananas , by fire roasting , grating and stir frying with some added spice powder . Utterly lip smacking with a simple rasam and rice . One of the most traditional dish prepared by our elders in their times and a regular in the daily menu , but not so much seen nowadays and falling into the forgotten delicious dishes category . Believe me fire roasting doesn’t take much time . and worth the mess near the gas burner 🙂

Instructions
  1. fire roast the raw bananas over gas flame , keep turning for even cooking inside
  2. poke with a fork to check if it has been cooked from inside ,
  3. when it becomes cool, peel and grate .
  4. meanwhile prepare the spice powder by roasting the ingredients with a tsp of sesame oil , coriander seeds, red chillies, asafoetida powder, chana dal , black sesame seeds.
  5. dry roast the grated coconut till fragrant .
  6. Powder the spice ingredients and keep aside .
  7. in a pan add some sesame oil , splutter mustard seeds, udad dal , some curry leaves, add the grated raw bananas , add the spice powder as needled, salt , stir well on a moderate heat .
  8. add grated roasted coconut and garnish
  9. serve with rasam and rice .
